Free K-12 Science Events Presented by the Geophysical Institute

The Geophysical Institute is excited to announce two new free, all ages, outreach events prior to the spring Science for Alaska talk series.
Snow Science Saturday is on Jan. 28, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center, 101 Dunkel St. Our Winter World and GLOBE Alaska join the Geophysical Institute to show how people, animals and plants rely on snow. You can become a citizen scientist, dig snow pits, simulate an avalanche, learn about water molecules and more!
Second, explore Space Science on Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Nordale Education Center, 397 Hamilton Ave. Bring your family and friends for space exploration, hands-on aurora activities and stargazing inside a planetarium with the Geophysical Institute and ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø BEST Homeschool.
