Lifeguard certification class
Nanook Recreation is hosting two lifeguard certification classes in September. Successful participants will earn a deep water lifeguarding certification from the American Red Cross, which is valid to work at the UAF Patty Pool as well as all other pools in the borough. Class meets Sept. 6-8 and 27-29.
Friday night class will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday will be full days, 9-5ish. Additionally, this is a hybrid course, requiring several hours online work ahead of the course weekend.
On the first day, there will be a required pass/fail swim test.
