Pesticide applicator training classes scheduled for January, April

A three-day certified pesticide applicator training course is scheduled for Jan. 31-Feb. 2, with a second course planned for April 25-27. The University Alaska ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Cooperative Extension Service will teach the classes via Zoom. Each class will meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be available statewide.

The state of Alaska requires certification for anyone who purchases, uses or sells restricted-use pesticides. Anyone who acts as a pesticide consultant, engages in the commercial or contract use of pesticides, or supervises pesticide use at a public location also must be certified.

A $75 fee includes study materials. Register for each course at . Participants are encouraged to become familiar with the materials and required math beforehand. 

Materials are available by appointment at Extension offices in Anchorage, Palmer, Soldotna, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and Delta Junction. They will be mailed to individuals in other communities. The deadline to register for the January class is Jan. 24. The deadline for the April class is April 18.
