The Office of Rights, Compliance and Accountability Prevention and Outreach Department is excited to announce the 2024 SoBear Mocktail Mix-Off Award winner: UAF Police Department!

UPD won the popular vote with their Northern Blue Light Special. The Northern Blue Light Special is an alcohol free drink that features non-alcoholic Blue Curacao syrup and pineapple.

If you want to sample this winning beverage, join ORCA POD during their SoBear Festival, happening Sept. 19-21. It will be available during Thursday's SoBear Lounge and Saturday’s SoBear Sip and Savor Soiree.

You can learn to make it during the SoBear Festival’s Mixology Course (Sept. 20) or try it on your own with the instructions provided below:

In a pitcher, combine:

  • 1 oz. Blue Curacao (non-alcoholic)
  • 1 oz. Sweetened Lime Juice
  • 1 oz. Seltzer Water
  • 2 oz. Sprite
  • 1 oz. Pineapple Juice
  • Dash of concentrated lime juice
  • Stir well
  • Pour over ice
  • Cherry or pineapple to garnish
