Wahl named director of UAF’s Bristol Bay Campus

Wanda Wahl has been named director of UAF's Bristol Bay Campus.

The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø College of Rural and Community Development has appointed Wanda Wahl to serve as director of the Bristol Bay Campus in Dillingham. Wahl has served as interim director since May 2021 and first worked there in 1985. The appointment was effective May 7.

Wahl is a lifelong Dillingham resident. She is an enrolled tribal member of Curyung, the tribe on whose ancestral land the Bristol Bay Campus is located. She holds a bachelor's degree in business from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon.

Bristol Bay Campus serves 33 remote villages scattered over a 55,000-square-mile area, including Bristol Bay, the Alaska Peninsula, the Pribilof Islands and the Aleutian Islands.

Bristol Bay is one of the five rural campuses in the UAF college system focused on serving Alaska Native and nontraditional students through online, audio and face-to-face learning opportunities.
