Key(s)
At check-in, you will be issued apartment/room keys or a combination, depending on your area. It is illegal to duplicate university keys, and lending or sharing your key is prohibited. If your keys are lost or stolen, a $150 replacement charge will be billed to your UA account. Contact Residence Life staff immediately if your keys are lost or stolen.
Room Condition Reports (RCR)
A room condition report is an inventory of the items in your room and their condition at the time of check-in. You can view your RCR in your MyHousing portal. You have 48 hours to review and dispute your RCR. When you check out of your room, the RCR will be utilized to assess any damages that were not listed on the RCR at the time of check-in.
Move-in Day is part of New Student Orientation (NSO). All new bachelor students registered for 12 or more credits (6 credits in-person), including transfer students with 30 credits or fewer and international undergraduate students (including F-1 and J-1 visa status) are automatically registered for NSO. Other students are welcome to join the fun and simply need to register to save their spot.
Things to keep in mind
To arrive on campus before the official move-in day, each individual resident will need to submit an Exception to Housing Agreement in the Housing Portal.
Early arrival students may be housed in a temporary room until they're transitioned to their fall or spring room assignment.
Any early arrival requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and aren't guaranteed. Communicating any changes as soon as possible to Residence Life ensures you the best possible experience.
Review the items to bring checklist for items you should bring — and things not to forget. Most students bring too much stuff. The best advice we've heard is to set out everything you want to bring, then pack and bring half of that!
