Why did you choose UAF?
When I left the UAA campus I had changed my major to a social work degree and I had problems with living in Anchorage so I couldn't continue my degree there.

Why did you choose UAF?
I chose UAF for the adventure and to try something new! I wanted to meet new people and get out of my comfort zone. UAF has definitely provided me with some unique and awesome experiences like being out in -40 degrees, seeing the northern lights, and events like Starvation Gulch with massive pallet fires!
Calvin Harvey
from Saint Clair Community College
Why did you choose UAF?
I was looking for adventure outside of my home town, and state. I also came here for their Research opportunities.

from Pasadena City College
Why did you choose UAF?
After realizing that California didn't quite have the types of Linguistics programs I was looking for, I began searching for out-of-state schools that would be better fits for my goals and interests. After sending multiple applications out and receiving several rejections, UAF remained in my top three choices. I came for a campus visit in February 2024 and verbally committed to the Linguistics program at the end of the day because I was impressed by how dedicated the faculty are and knew I would enjoy being at UAF.

from Washington State University
Why did you choose UAF?
I had changed my major at WSU to Business Administration, and my friends and family “jokingly” said I should also transfer to UAF. I did some research and a years worth of in-state tuition at UAF was roughly a semesters worth of tuition at WSU with my scholarships. So I ended up talking with an Advisor at CBSM and she made the whole process super clear, what classes would transfer over, what I'd have to take, and what it would roughly cost me.
