Fisheries and oceanography in Alaska are best described by superlatives—the greatest catches, vast natural resources, the longest coastline in the nation. The most extensive and most valuable fisheries in the world exist in the most spectacular of settings—in Alaska!

Our mission is to educate students for professional careers in marine industries that use Alaska's rich living and nonliving resources, and in agencies charged with conserving such resources. Many of our students gain experience as professional interns during their course of study. Our programs draw students from throughout the country, and the majority of our students choose to pursue careers within Alaska.

Creating a legacy through the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences is a vital investment in the future of CFOS students, faculty and the State of Alaska. Your generosity will help to ensure that the greatest catches, our vast natural resources and the longest coastline in the nation continue to serve our state, nation and the world—for generations to come.
