LARS Holiday Bazaar: Wednesday November 20th, 2024 11am-4pm in the Murie Building Lobby
The Large Animal Research Station is moving its gift shop to the Murie Building Lobby for one day of holiday shopping! We will be there with all manners of muskox and reindeer goodness for you to gift to your loved ones or to yourself. And yes, we have lots of fresh Muskox Kisses to deck your halls.
We are also inviting some of our friends! You can also shop for gifts from:
All Trades Company, Far North Dry Goods, Bird Ninja Art, Morel Pottery, The Georgeson Botanical Garden, Robin Farmer Art, and DUO Goods

LARS Birthday Bash: Saturday June 1st, 2024

Our Annual Birthday Bash is the kick off to our summer and a celebration of the newest additions to our herd! There is food, fun children's activities, and more! This is a free community event.  Staff will be on hand to answer questions and the gift shop will be open.  We will be suspending tours on this day and all are welcome to explore the tour and display areas and see the new calves while asking questions of our staff. 

Parking is limited at LARS--Please take the FREE PARKING SHUTTLE!  

Park on West Ridge and wait for the shuttle to pick you up at the Akasofu Building (click for a photo and a map)!  The shuttle will be leaving the Akasofu building on the half hours and returning from LARS on the hours.  See the schedule below.

LARS Local's Day: September 9th, 2024

Our Local's Day is a wonderful community event. Tours are given every hour and the cost of admission is a donation to the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Community Food Bank. Last year we raised over 1,100 pounds of food! There is also food, activities for the kids, and a sale in our gift shop!
