Our department offers both a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) or a Bachelor of Science degree (BS). The psychology major requirements are the same. Both degrees emphasize oral and written communication skills as well as critical thinking. The BA is a liberal arts degree that requires you to choose a minor and take at least two humanities classes.

The BS degree emphasizes mathematics and science. It is especially helpful for those applying to graduate schools which require a solid science background (ex. medicine, pharmacy, physical therapy, etc.) However, the BA degree can also be supplemented with selected science and mathematics prerequisites. Neither degree is “better” than the other. If you are unsure, consult with the Undergraduate Advisor to discuss which choice is right for you.
