Opened in 1962, Chandalar Homes has a variety of one, two and three-bedroom layouts and can house partners, families or individuals with children. All units are unfurnished. All utilities except for phone and cable are included. The floor plans offered here are examples of the units and aren’t representative of all units. Families and individuals with children can enjoy the view of the Tanana Valley with close proximity to the Wood Center, the Hess Village Community Center and playgrounds. Harwood Hall opened in 1964 and is on the corner of Tanana Loop and Kuskokwim Way. Perfect for one person or partners, the three-story building consists of 18 one-bedroom furnished apartments and 18 efficiency furnished apartments. All utilities except for phone and cable are included.

Opened in 1959, Michael Walsh Hall has 12 one-bedroom apartments for individuals or partners. Walsh Hall is conveniently located across the street from the Wood Center and the main shuttle stops for campus and city shuttles. All utilities except phone and cable are included.

Opened in 1955, Walter T. Stuart Hall offers 12 one-bedroom apartments for individuals or partners. Stuart Hall is located across from the Wood Center, the Rasmuson Library and the center of campus. All utilities except phone and cable are included.

Opened in 1965, Garden Apartments are shared two-bedroom apartments with one occupant per bedroom. Perfect for undergraduate students over 26 and graduate students, Garden is located in a very quiet part of campus within walking distance to the Wood Center and near the campus shuttle stop. All utilities except phone and cable are included.

In 1936, Froelich G. Rainey, an anthropology professor at UAF, commissioned this cabin for himself and his wife. It was acquired by the university in 1942, and inducted to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. A major renovation in 1982 included a replacement of the roof, the addition of insulation, and the installation of an alarm system. This rustic one-bedroom cabin is mainly used for faculty and staff housing and is located near Cutler Apartments. All utilities except phone and cable are included.
