Hazard Communication

Do I need Hazard Communication training?

If your work takes place in an office and you occasionally use typical office products (white out, Dry-Erase board cleaner, printer/copier toners, basic cleaning products, or adhesives), you do not need to take Hazard Communication training and just need to attest to your work environment.

If any of the following apply to your work, you are required to take Hazard Communication training:

  • you work with larger than consumer quantities of typical office products (i.e., you service copiers, printers, or other equipment)
  • you work in a warehouse or other chemical storage facility
  • you perform industrial activities involving chemicals, including fuels, oils, solvents, and compressed gases
  • you work in a laboratory that uses chemicals, compressed gases, and/or equipment that poses physical hazards (lasers, ovens, radiation, etc.)
