Scholarships

There are many scholarship opportunities for art students at UAF.

The first step in the scholarship process is to visit the UAF Financial Aid website and begin the paperwork process. The deadline for this is February 15.

Scholarship opportunities within the department

There are various scholarships available to art students. Please contact the department for more information. 

 

Scholarship

Minimum $1,000 per academic year

Purpose: To provide scholarships for photography students with financial need at the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.

$1000 per academic year

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to graduate students majoring in painting or sculpture at the University of Alaska ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.

Minimum $500 per semester, $1,000 per academic year

Purpose: To provide scholarships for fine art photography graduate students enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts at the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. Minimum award amount shall be $1,000 annually.

Purpose: To provide scholarships for students in art classes at the University of Alaska ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.

Purpose: To provide support for students attending the Summer Music Academy and/or the Summer Visual Art Academy or students majoring in the Fine Arts at the University of Alaska ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.

Purpose: To provide scholarships, every year, to outstanding UAF students; one a Mechanical Engineering major and second, a Visual Arts major, who are Juniors or Sophomores, who have the highest financial need, and with a preference for those students whose applications reflect a disadvantaged background. These restrictions and purposes will be applied to the use of your fund in the priority order listed, incorporating all that apply.

Purpose: To provide scholarship support for Fine Arts students based on merit for those students whose work is in representational art.

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to undergraduate students at the sophomore level or higher, or graduate students who are majoring in any of the fine visual arts at the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.

Minimum $1,000 per academic year

Purpose: To provide scholarship funding for art students at the University of Alaska ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø; criteria is based on creative and technical abilities of a UAF art student with preference given to a degree-seeking student working in ceramics in their junior or senior year maintaining a GPA of at least 3.0. Additional consideration will be given to a student who most exemplifies Liz's contributions to the growth and well-being of our community. The selection committee will be the UAF ceramics professor and the UAF Art Dept Chair or his/her designee. They will communicate with the Berry family during the selection process to inform them of the recipient.

Purpose: To provide scholarships for students (entering 6th grade through having just completed 12th grade) attending the Summer Music Academy at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø who are not only interested in developing their own talents in any of the arts areas but also are appreciative of and willing to help in the development of others' talents.

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to students of the Ceramics Program at the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to students majoring in Art at the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. Preference will be given to students studying jewelry making/silversmithing.

The Nanook Fine and Performing Arts Scholarship is open to incoming first-year students who will be studying either Theater & Film, Music, or Art at UAF.
