Society for Human Resources Management
SHRM provides opportunities for networking and helps members learn more about human resources and the real world of business management, while building relationships with local professionals and other students. The chapter invites local business people to speak about current developments in the business world and how they will impact future workers. Beyond the regular meetings, SHRM organizes a variety of activities including company tours, student conferences, resume-writing and interviewing workshops, fundraisers, internship programs, and social events.
SHRM is a nationally affiliated student organization for college students. Membership is open to all undergraduate and graduate students in all majors who are interested in human resources.
We meet bi-weekly and have in depth conversations about current events that are happening in human resources. Additionally, as a chapter we network with local HR professionals in a variety of settings. Student chapter members have the opportunity to participate in activities on and off campus such visiting local HR offices and helping with College of Business and Security Management's annual Business Leader of the Year event.
SHRM’s regular business meetings cover topics such as planning for guest speakers, networking events, and chapter maintenance. Snacks and light finger foods are provided. These meetings provide an opportunity to have your Student SHRM membership sponsored and take part of the many other benefits of being a SHRM member! #UAFSHRM
