The University of Alaska Music Community School is a ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø-centered private lesson academy run through the UAF Department of Music focused on the growth and development of musicians in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. We utilize our UAF Music students as instructors in the Music Community School to give these students musical training and a chance to earn money while doing what they love—teaching and performing music. The lessons are open to children and adults of all ages. The instrumentation available for private instruction will vary each semester according to the availability of the instructors. The goal of the music community school is to fill in the gap that has developed from the lack of funding in the public schools while also giving our college music students a chance to put their music and pedagogical skills to work in a one-on-one classroom setting.
